I had completed this model already last year. But this Shelf gives me the possibility to document it in more detail.
The inspiration for this was Blasphemous as well as the theme of crucifixion in general. I knew I wanted a sword that was simple in its materials by which I mean there shouldn’t be tons of different gemstones, or many different metals. It was also supposed to look elegant more so than brutal.

“Mors Certa” meaning “certain death” was supposed to represent the will to fight on well-knowing that death was inevitable. The two hands on the grip broaden this meaning into the realm of camaraderie. But then again, there is, of course, the person crucified who appears to be upside down if you look at when holding the sword in your hand. The upside down crucifixion reminds of St. Peter but was also generally a way to humiliate a person even in death. So the question would be how does that play into the will to fight on? Maybe it is a reminder that at the end of the day, death is inevitable, or maybe it is a reminder that what comes after death doesn’t matter.
